About Us

Ken Beaudreau: Co-Founder

Ken brings more than 40 years of hands-on construction experience to the industry. He started out as a laborer in pipeline work and went on to become a certified pipe welder, building a career the hard way — through grit, skill, and a willingness to take on tough jobs wherever they were. Over the years, Ken has worked on major projects across Alaska, California, Texas, Oklahoma, and the Dakotas, including time on a hydroelectric dam in Kodiak Island, shipyards, heavy construction sites, and in chemical engineering solution management.

Ken co-founded Energy Shield with his son Dan and his wife Kate, building the company on a foundation of hard work, trust, and long-term relationships. What began as a residential roofing company has grown and now offers commercial roofing too, with projects ranging from office buildings, hospitals, churches, public works facilities, and military projects to homes that need dependable, high-quality roofing solutions. Ken takes pride not only in the work Energy Shield delivers, but in the partnerships they’ve built throughout the industry and the people who make that work possible.
For Ken, success isn’t just measured by projects completed — it’s also about family, loyalty, and building something that lasts. Working alongside his son Dan and staying married for more than 40 years are two of the accomplishments he’s most proud of.

Dan Beaudreau: Owner

Dan Beaudreau was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. Dan entered the construction industry working as a roofer while attending Boise State University’s Fine Arts department.  After graduating, Dan, along with his mother and father, formed Energy Shield in 2015. Dan takes pride in managing all Energy Shield’s ongoing projects and connecting with our customers. Dan’s experience working on large commercial construction sites, residential remodels of all types, and large art installation projects gives him a unique perspective for any project our clients desire. When not working, Dan spends his time with his wife Andrea and their two children, playing hockey and doing Judo, and pursuing any type of creative hobby from woodcarving to drawing and painting.

 

James Deveraux: Residential Roofing Specialist

James was born in Kent, Washington, and was raised in the Boise area. He has been in the roofing and construction industry since 2012 and enjoys building long-lasting relationships with Treasure Valley homeowners by offering the best products, backed by industry-leading warranties and innovative features. Outside of work, he pursues many outdoor interests and spends time with his family and friends.

Energy Shield was founded in 2015 by Dan, Ken, and Kate Beaudreau. Energy Shield primarily focuses on residential and commercial roofing projects. Energy Shield values honesty and good communication with our clients and customers, while using innovative materials and the best safety practices among our crews. We are local to the Treasure Valley and have completed jobs throughout all of Idaho and Eastern Oregon. We strive to create the best experience for your remodel project or roofing project.
